Alex Jones Holding Onto Jan. 6 Rioters’ Guns: Bankruptcy Docs

  • Alex Jones is holding onto firearms for January 6 rioters, The Washington Post reported.
  • Jones filed for bankruptcy after a judge ordered he pays the families of Sandy Hook victims.
  • The controversial talk show host had been subpoenaed for his role in the Jan. 6 insurrection.

InfoWars conspiracy theorist Alex Jones reported that he’s holding onto guns for two January 6th rioters, according to bankruptcy paperwork obtained by The Washington Post

The document required that he identify property in his possession that he does not own. Among the items, Jones wrote that he’s “holding firearms for certain January 6th participants,” the document reads, per the Post.

Jones recently told HuffPost that he is holding onto weapons for InfoWars War Room host Owen Shroyer and video editor Sam Montoya. Shroyer and Montoya were two of more than a thousand people charged in the Capitol riot so far.

John Eastman Is Team Trump’s Pick for Jan. 6 Scapegoat

With the Justice Department and Jan. 6 committee taking a close look at Donald Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election, he and his cronies could certainly use a fall guy, and it looks like they’ve found their patsy: right-wing lawyer John Eastman.

Eastman worked for Trump as the attorney devised legal strategies to overturn the election to keep the outgoing president in power. But, in recent weeks, Trump has confided to those close to him that he sees no reason to publicly defend Eastman, two people familiar with the matter tell Rolling Stone. The ex-president is also deeply annoyed with Eastman and all the negative “attention” and media coverage that the lawyer’s work has brought Trump and his inner sanctum, including during the ongoing Jan. 6 hearings on Capitol Hill.

It takes a lot of planning and effort to start a new law school. High on the priority list is securing faculty and leadership for the burgeoning school. High Point University, a private school in North Carolina affiliated with the United Methodist Church, announced earlier this year they’re opening up a law school in 2024. Earlier this week, HPU revealed its choice for founding dean of the law school, and it is a… peculiar one.

HPU has hired Mark D. Martin as its law school dean. Martin previously served as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of North Carolina, as an Associate Judge on the North Carolina Court of Appeals, and was dean and professor of law at Regent University School of Law. All of which are seemingly excellent qualifications for law school dean, so why is this anything more than a perfunctory article noting the hire?

Well, that’s because Martin lent his expertise to former President Donald Trump after he lost the 2020 election. According to a report by the New York Times, Martin was the legal mind behind the theory that the Vice President could just decide not to certify the election
